Omar Elhady is an Egyptian journalist who began his career in 2007 in political and investigative reporting at the daily newspaper "Al-Badil". Before joining Asharq, he spent 10 years as the managing editor of "Al-Masry Al-Youm" daily in Cairo, where he helped shape its editorial strategy and growth planning across digital and print platforms during the post-2011 era. Omar joined Asharq during its founding phase in 2020, leading the launch of Asharq.com, and later oversaw its revamp in 2023, introducing new design and content offerings.
